New Construction
& Custom Homes

Experience at Every Stage.

I advise buyers, landowners, builders and developers across Buckhead and metro Atlanta through the full life of a new home: finding and evaluating the land, shaping the architecture and finishes, and positioning and selling the finished residence.

My work in new construction spans custom homes, spec construction, significant renovations and residential development: hundreds of residences across a broad range of price points, including homes above $10 million.

I am involved long before a home comes to market, because that is where most of its value is decided. Which lot, what to build on it, at what scale and for which buyer. Those are real estate decisions as much as design decisions, and they are far easier to get right at the beginning than to correct at the end.

Lot Feasibility Review

The most expensive mistakes in building are made before the first drawing: paying a premium for a lot that cannot carry the house you have in mind, or building the wrong house for the street. A Lot Feasibility Review is my read on a lot or teardown before you commit to it.

  • What the zoning allows: setbacks, lot coverage and impervious limits, height.
  • What the site allows: topography, drainage, sewer, access, and the trees that come with it.
  • What the street supports: what to build, at what scale and quality level, and what the finished home should be worth.
  • What it will take: the architect, builder and timeline that fit the project.

I also hear about lots and teardowns before they reach the open market. If you are looking, tell me what you are looking for.

Building in Atlanta from somewhere else.

If you are relocating to Atlanta and would rather build than buy, the process can start long before you move. I can find and evaluate the land, introduce the right architect and builder, and be your eyes on site through construction, so the visits you do make are spent on the decisions that need you there.

For the rest of the move, from neighborhoods and schools to timing, my guide to relocating to Atlanta is the place to start.

Advisory before and during construction: plan review, finish recommendations, market positioning and pricing strategy, from the person who will be selling the finished home. I work alongside builders and developers on single infill residences and on full communities.

Residential development.

My experience also extends to the acquisition, entitlement, development, positioning, marketing and sale of residential communities throughout Georgia.

The people I would trust with your home.

I do not publish the names of the builders, architects and designers I work with. Some prefer it that way, and the right team always depends on the project. Tell me a little about what you are planning and I will share the people I would recommend, along with anything else that helps.

Questions About Building in Atlanta

What is a Lot Feasibility Review?

It is my review of a lot or teardown before you commit to it: what the zoning allows, including setbacks and lot coverage; what the site allows, including topography, drainage, sewer, access and trees; and what the street will support, so you know what can be built, at what scale, and what the finished home should be worth.

Can you help me find a lot or teardown in Buckhead?

Yes. I work across Buckhead and metro Atlanta, and I often hear about lots and teardowns before they reach the open market. Tell me the area, the size of home you have in mind and your timeline, and I will tell you what is realistic.

Do I need a real estate advisor to build a custom home in Atlanta?

You do not need one, but the decisions with the biggest effect on value are real estate decisions: which lot, what to build on it, and how the finished home is positioned. Having someone involved from the beginning who sells finished homes at that level keeps those decisions grounded.

Can I build a home in Atlanta while I am still living in another city?

Yes. I can evaluate land, introduce architects and builders, and represent your interests on site during construction, so the visits you make are spent on the decisions that need you there.

Which builders and architects do you work with?

I work with many of Atlanta’s leading builders, architects, interior designers and landscape architects. I share those names privately and match them to the project. Use the form on this page to request them.

Do you work with builders and developers?

Yes. I advise builders and developers before and during construction on plan review, finish recommendations, market positioning and pricing, and I handle the marketing and sale of the finished homes, on single infill residences and full communities.

Before you buy the land, let's talk.

Whether you have found a lot, already own one, or are still deciding whether to build at all, an early conversation is the inexpensive kind.
